I think there should have been more conditions... like you will be ugly as hell, or you will go through a painful experience every month..bad luck for eternity.
with the current conditions of immortality who wouldn't take it? you live forever......for...ever......wtf do you do once youve done everything? and when the world goes into a nuclear holocaust, or inter galactic warfare, or the su blows up. Have fun in space, maybe save yourself a pattleball and play with it for eternity afterwards. LOL yes..I agree..bring something to entertain yourself with but, I do believe there is enough to experience that one would not get bored. I mean, essentially, you could travel to anywhere because, if you don't die, then you could travel to another planetary system and seek out intelligent life. SUre, it may take you thousands of years to get there, but what else are ya gonna do??
1 hour of boredom is enough to drive me crazy....a thousand or a million years and i would defy the concept of immortality and implode myself from boredom.

No one took the time to read my first post on pg. 3? If you do some planing you wouldn't have to be bored, in pain all the time, live alone... etc. When you have a few billion years before the sun explodes, and probably a few hundred years before humans invent their way into interstellar travel, I am sure you won't have to be a genius to prevent getting yourself into something you can't get out of.

I wouldnt take it, thats horrible it would be nice, if you stayed the same age, but imagine, all the pain and isolation you would have to go through after a couple of years...and keep in mind humans wont be around for very long, like the year 3000 will be farked.

year 3000? Did you just make that up? hahaha
I don't think we'll be farked unless we get plowed over by a huge comet or asteroid. Hell, that could happen any freakin' day!

True, then you could become someone's pet monkey or locked up like we do with chimps and apes. doesn't sound good to me.

It's probably like 80% probability that by the year 3000, humanity will screwed itself in the ass a little too much. We could have so many things happen... Terminator style, matrix style, WW3 style, natural disaster caused by pollution, natural disaster caused by weapon (The Core style), natural disaster on global scale...like the next super volcano, alien invasion by accident, alien invasion caused by random human technology development (star trek style), biological weapon disaster (zombie style), etc etc.
Chances are, in 1000 years, if we don't do something about our way of life, we would be super farked.

In a couple centuries you would think mankind invents some kind of use for another virtually inexhaustible resource. Like hydrogen, or solar power, or other shit on a mass scale with a ton more efficiency than we have now. I doubt in a few centuries that resources will be an issue.

Doubt it, because we are already trying right now and nothing good has come up, exept a rather recent discovery that salt water can be burned as fuel http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/11/can- ... d-as-fuel/
but I dont think were getting anywhere, the world has to come to the end...maybe WW3 is the apocalypse, maybe not, theres a possibility you are right and same with me, but lets hope your right, I wouldnt want to give my kids and my kid's kids, a shitty world to live in

It's just like saying "Chances are in favour of it happening" but I am throwing in a random number higher than 50% to make it seem more likely to...people with less understanding.
Or a full translation. Probably like = around, 80% = number higher than 50% so more likely, probability = chance. So around 80% chance.....

No because then I'd watch all my friends grow old and die as I stay young and never die. That's a wretched existence. I couldn't bear it. I think most people say that they would like to be immortal because they fear death but I read this somewhere saying: Pity the Living, don't pity the Dead. This is actually true, because if death is what people say it is then no pain, no stress, and no worries. That compared to Life? I'd rather live to a ripe old age (not like 90 years+ but like 70-80) and die peacefully in my sleep.
